One  of the problems created by the modern conveniences and our sedimentary lifestyles is, we don’t get enough  physical or mental exercise. The body becomes weakened as we age and the human mind follows suit as people tend to lessen activities in their late twenty’s which leads to early health issues. The major concern about these facts is that both the male and female of our species are participating less in the outdoors while becoming more inclined toward inside-bound activities which are technologically oriented. While some of these activities may increase hand/eye coordination, they do little to stimulate critical thinking and nothing to improve one’s physical conditioning either. The strengthening of the forefinger and thumb muscles from constant video game playing isn’t of much value in the main scheme of things that will improve your health.

Most people will suffer during their lives unnecessarily  according to worldwide Medical authorities; due to the lack of appropriate physical and mental exercise.  It has been pointed out that changing the channels on the flat-screen television via the remote control doesn’t meet the prescription to treat the exercise issues facing us today. To state that’s not what the doctor ordered is a gross understatement, to say the least.

I’m so ancient that I remember the “old days” when you had to actually get up to change the television channels, to turn the volume up or down, or  turn the set-off or on because there was no remote control. You were the remote unless, of course, you had children which could be “encouraged” to perform the manual labor for you: bribed or threatened, one or both … whatever got the desired reaction with the least amount of personal effort;  yep, those were the days!
