Adversity and Opportunity

Adversity & Opportunity

The world is made of choices and every person must select their own preferences; such as career, education, location, mate, religion and general likes and dislikes. It has been rightfully said that; “One man’s trash can be another man’s treasure” and so it is with life: it’s all about choices. Wouldn’t the world be a boring place if we all had the same likes and preferences; the answer is a resounding yes! The diversity of life is a huge part of what makes it interesting and enjoyable to be alive.

The choices we make on a daily basis add up to a alarmingly humongous number and most of us are so used to it that we give the matter little thought or notice. While our split-second continuous choices are made indiscriminately and off the cuff, the results incurred by them are sometimes long lasting and far reaching; effecting our future lifestyle in both good and bad ways. The fact is that there are always consequences to every decision we make and every action we take. It is also true that we tend to overthink many things in our lives that are of little consequence and place importance on things that aren’t really don’t matter.

People are all different, which is sometimes a decisive separating element in human relationships and our differences should really nourish personal growth. Humans must someday learn to celebrate our commonalities and stop focusing on our differences. This then is the premise of the Bite tonight courtesy of your friendly, online, neighborhood ThinkerBites; “One persons adversity is another persons opportunity.” People who view adversity as a positive, turn it into an opportunity to succeed, while those who perceive adversity as a negative will turn it into a potential excuse to fail. The natural imagination of each of us is as unique as our fingerprints and as common as our shared humanity, therefore, regardless of our diversities, we are all the same species.

Always keep in mind that the solutions to all of our problems, situations, persuasions and personal preferences reside within us. The world can be cool and comforting, however, man’s inhumanity to man is in no danger of being in short supply, at least anytime in the near future. Keep in mind that we are all a work in progress and as we are so fond of saying;“ It’s All About the U In You!”….. it always was.

It’s About You!
